About the work

This work is particularly successful in its use of negative space. The almost empty foreground leads the eye toward the architectural mass and boats, creating a contemplative threshold between land and water. Its pale blue atmosphere gives the painting an unusually serene, almost photographic stillness. Every Rangkunchala work is completely hand-made and unique — no prints, no reproductions. It arrives with a signed certificate of authenticity and is carefully packed for insured delivery.
